What this site collects, why, and what is done with it.

01What is collected

We collect as little as we can. This site has no analytics, no advertising tags and no tracking cookies.

When you subscribe to Waypoint: your email address. Your IP address is passed to our newsletter provider, Buttondown, so it can tell real signups from spam.

When you order: your name, email address, shipping address, the items you bought, and your phone number if you give one. You enter these on Shopify’s checkout, not on this site. Your card details go to the payment processor and never reach us.

When you write to us: whatever you put in your email. The contact form on this site does not send anything itself. It opens your own email app.

When you visit: our host, Vercel, handles every request to the site and keeps short-lived technical logs, including IP addresses, to run the site and keep it secure.

The site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

02Why it is collected

Newsletter: to send you Waypoint, which you asked for and confirmed. Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Orders: to make, ship and support your order, handle faults and refunds, and keep the records tax law requires.

Emails to us: to answer you.

Site logs: to keep the site working and protect it from abuse.

We do not sell your information. If you tick “Email me with news and offers” at checkout, Shopify keeps a record that you agreed. That box starts unticked.

03How long it is kept

Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Buttondown keeps a record of the unsubscribe, so you are not added again by mistake.

Orders: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, then deleted.

Emails to us: for as long as the conversation needs, then deleted.

Site logs: for Vercel’s standard log period. We do not keep copies.

04Who it is shared with

We share information only with the services that run the shop.

Shopify receives your order and checkout details, to run checkout, payment and order records.

Printful receives your name, shipping address and the items ordered, to print and ship your order.

Buttondown receives your email address and the IP address you signed up from, to send Waypoint.

Vercel receives technical request logs, to host this site.

Each one handles your information under its own privacy policy, and some may process it outside the United States. We would also share information if the law required it.

05Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies. It keeps a few things in your browser’s own storage, on your device only, and never sends them to us: your cart, a marker that lets the cart empty itself once your Shopify checkout is finished, the routes you save, and one Atlas setting that remembers you dismissed its help hint.

Clearing your browser’s site data removes all of them. Shopify’s checkout pages set their own cookies, which Shopify’s privacy policy covers.

06Your rights and how to exercise them

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, and you can object to any use of it. We offer these rights to everyone, wherever you live. Write to hello@roadsterrepublic.com and we will reply within 30 days.

To stop receiving Waypoint, use the unsubscribe link in any issue. We may keep what tax law requires for an order even after a deletion request, and we will tell you if that applies.
